Promoting online personal data privacy standards around the world.

The Internet Privacy Forum is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical global organisation headquartered in Hong Kong, with operations in Brussels and Washington D.C. Founded in 2008, the IPF pursues four main objectives:
  • Conducting research on online privacy related trends and developments
  • Working together with governments agencies, nonprofit organisations and private corporations to develop stronger privacy standards around the world
  • Promoting technologies and services to which safeguard the privacy and private information of Internet users everywhere
  • Raising public awareness of Internet privacy related issues

The control and privacy of one's own personal data is a fundamental right which needs to be protected in an increasingly networked global world. The IPF seeks to protect Internet users from the abuses of this right and to clearly articulate the frameworks under which online privacy is defined and practiced in the 21st century and beyond.
